Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival
Arrive in Beijing.
Be met from airport by private vehicle and be transferred to hotel for checking in. Remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Lunch, Old temple, Chinese Tea, Lama Temple.

Drive to visit Tiananmen Square. The Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world. Surrounded by many well-known cultural and political institutions, the square is the final resting place of Chairman Mao Zedong. The square has witnessed the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Enter the Palace Museum from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Known as Forbidden City, the Palace Museum is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. The palace was the exclusive domain of the imperial court for almost 500 years, 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty. As one of the World Cultural Relics, the palace consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.

After lunch, we will visit an old temple with the longest history in Beijing. The temple is the location of Chinese Buddhist Institute and Museum of Buddhist Books. It is an important place to train young Sangha and study Buddhist culture.

Taste Chinese tea, enjoy Chinese tea ceremony and have a rest in a local tea house.
China is the hometown and birthplace of Chinese tea.
Being the national drinks of China, tea has a history of four to five thousand years.
Tea culture is one of the specific representative of Chinese culture.

Then we will visit Lama Temple. As the biggest lamasery in Beijing, the Lama Temple was built in 1694. The temple contains 5 halls along a central axis plus three Memorial Archways. The Hall of Harmony and Peace is the main building of the temple.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.

Day 3. Mutianyu Great Wall, Hongluo Temple.

Photo of Mutianyu Great WallDrive to visit Mutianyu Great Wall.  Located around 90 km northeast of Beijing, Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.
Mutianyu section was first built in the mid-6th century. It is the longest fully-restored Great Wall with 22 original style watchtowers. Mutianyu Great Wall features picturesque landscape with 90% forest coverage rate. The scenery in spring and autumn is excellent. Mutianyu Great Wall is not so crowded as Badaling section.

Then visit Hongluo Temple. Hongluo Temple is called the first Buddhism Temple in north China, partly because the temple is the birthplace of buddhism in north China. Several emperors have visited this temple and got this temple into closed relation with Chinese politics and diplomatism.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.

Day 4. 2 Buddhist Temples, Summer Palace.

Photo of Summer PalaceDrive to visit a compact and well-preserved garden style temple. In accordance with the mountain, the whole temple includes separately closed courtyards. The double stone lion in front of the mountain gate, the clay painted sculptures in the palace and the murals in Maitreya palace are all art treasures.

Then visit another famous ancient Buddhist temples in Beijing. It was first built in the 627 during the Tang Dynaty. There is a sandalwood recumbent Buddha of Tang Dynasty and bronze recumbent Buddha of Yuan Dynasty inside the temple.

After lunch, we will visit Summer Palace. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. The Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.

Day 5. Badachu Park, Guangji Temple, Buddhist temple.

Drive to visit Badachu Park. Surrounded by three hills, Badachu park possesses lovely weather and beautiful landscape. The name of the temple literally means "Eight Great Sites" which refers to the eight temples in the park. The park has been a holy place for Buddhists.

Then visit Guangji Temple. Guangji Temple means the temple of great charity and it is one of the major Buddhist temples and the only Buddhist temple in the downtown area in Beijing.
The temple houses a wall of 18 Buddhist deities, Ming dynasty religious relics and a library of over 100,000 volumes of scriptures in 20 different languages, some of which date back to the Song dynasty. The Guangji Temple now is the China Buddhist Association. Important Buddhist ceremonies and activities are usually held there.

After lunch, we will visit a Buddhist temple built in 1443. It preserves the only wooden structures and groups of buildings from the Ming Dynasty in Beijing. It is also renowned for statues, Buddhist Scriptures, murals and Buddhist music.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.
