Beijing Temple of Heaven Walking Tour

Itinerary

Be picked up from your hotel by English speaking tour guide at 08:30 am.

Then arrive in Temple of Heaven to start our walking tour. Built in 1420 during Ming Dynasty, Temple of Heaven is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world. The emperor came to the temple every winter to pray for ample harvests and good weather. Strictly built on the basis of philosophical requirements, the temple in many ways features the relationship between Heaven and Earth.

Then visit Beijig Ancient Architecture Museum. Located in Beijing Xiannong Altar, Beijing ancient Architecture Museum is the first theme museum collecting, researching and displaying China ancient architecture technologies, art and its development history in China. With lots of pictures, photos, material objects and elaborate models, the museum displays the Chinese ancient architecture in different periods of China.

Move on to visit Taoranting Park. Built in Qing Dynasty, Taoranting Park was a popular site for scholars to recite and compose poetry and essays. Taoranting Park contains 36 pavilions, including ten full sized replicas of well-known pavilions in China.

Then visit an Ancient & Real Temple. It is an important place to train young Sangha and study Buddhist culture. In the year 1983, the temple was identified as the key temple in Han nation area of China. As the ancient architecture of Qing dynasty, the temple was also listed in the fifth National Key Culture Relics Protection Units.

Return to your hotel after the whole day tour.
