Brief Itinerary

  • Day 1. Arrive in Shanghai, Shanghai Museum, People's Square, Wulixiang Shikumen Museum, Nanjing Road, the Bund.  
  • Day 2. Zhouzhuang Water Town.    
  • Day 3. Shanghai Postal Museum, 1933 Old Millfun, Sanshan Guild Hall, Jade Buddha Temple, Cruise on Huangpu River.  
  • Day 4. Yu Garden, Yu Market, Chinese Brush Pen and Ink Museum, Wukang Road, Pudong New Area, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Outside view of China Hall of Shanghai Expo, Binjiang Avenue.  
  • Day 5. Take Maglev Train to airport for departure.  

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1. Arrive in Shanghai, Shanghai Museum, People's Square, Wulixiang Shikumen Museum, Nanjing Road, the Bund.  

  • Be met from Shanghai airport or train station by private guide.
    Head to Shanghai Museum. Shanghai Museum is a comprehensive museum with a round top and a square base, which symbolizes the old Chinese philosophy.More than 120,000 pieces of cultural relics are on display showcase Chinese ancient history and art.
    Then take a stroll on People's Square. Covering an area of 140,000 square meters, People's Square is the center of politics and culture of Shanghai city. Shanghai Municipal Government Mansion is on the north side of the square.
  • Continue to visit Wulixiang Shikumen Museum. Located in Xintiandi, the museum is a 3-story Shikumen house with the decorations used in the 1930s. You are like stepping into the past of Shanghai.
    Walk around on Nanjing Road, the busiest shopping street in Shanghai. It is a paradise for shoppers.
    Move on to the Bund. As an importaing symbol of Shanghai city, the Bund(Waitan) is a mile-long waterfront along the Huangpu River. It was the city's financial and commercial centers in the 1930s. 52 various buildings in different architectural styles were built here at that time.

  • Day 2. Zhouzhuang Water Town.    

  • Be picked up from hotel by private guide at 08:30am.
    Have a one day tour to Zhouzhuang Water Town. The town has a history of almost 1,000 years. It is reputed as "the No. 1 Water Town in China". With lakes on four sides, the town boasts 100 residential houses and 14 distinctive ancient stone bridges.
  • Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

  • Day 3. Shanghai Postal Museum, 1933 Old Millfun, Sanshan Guild Hall, Jade Buddha Temple, Cruise on Huangpu River.  

  • Be picked up from hotel by private guide at 08:30am.
    Drive to visit Shanghai Postal Museum. Shanghai Post Building is one of China's most outstanding contemporary buildings. The Museum in the building shows the development of the postal service, various precious stamps, past, present and future of the postal system.
    Then visit 1933 Old Millfun. The building is a unique masterpiece of architecture and different from any buildings. Now it is a place to experience some fashion and art.
    Visit Sanshan Guild Hall, which is the only best preserved Guild Hall of late Qing Dynasty in Shanghai. The carved beam and painted pillar are full of artistic value.
  • Move on to Jade Buddha Temple. Built in the Qing Dynasty(1644-1912), Jade Buddha Temple is famous for magnificent architectures and jade statues from Burma.
    Have a cruise on Huangpu River for one hour. You seem to travel in a river of history. On one side of the bank are the buildings with hundred of years' history, on the other side are the grand Steel and glass structures in Pudong New district.
    Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

  • Day 4. Yu Garden, Yu Market, Chinese Brush Pen and Ink Museum, Wukang Road, Pudong New Area, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Outside view of China Hall of Shanghai Expo, Binjiang Avenue.

    Visit Yu Garden first. With a history of over 400 years, Yu Garden is a traditional garden in southern China. The pavilions, halls, cloisters are decorated with exquisite carvings. The bridges, ponds, and rockeries are linked by zigzagging stone paths.
    Then discover Yu Market with traditional Chinese architectures. You can find plenty of local products.
    Proceed to Chinese Brush Pen and Ink Museum. The musuem is engaged in exhibiting Chinese brush pen and ink.
    Move on to Wukang Road, originally called Route Ferguson, was built in 1907. The road is lined with 37 historical buildings with European styles.
  • Drive to Pudong New Area, the first free trade zone in Shanghai. It is the symbol of China's reform and opening-up.
    Visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The tower is the most recognizable landmark of Shanghai City. With 468 meters high in total,It Oriental Pearl TV Tower made up of 11 spheres and has has three full-scope sightseeing spheres for visitors to enjoy the fantastic view of Shanghai in different heights.
    Enjoy the outside view of China Hall of Shanghai Expo. Made of traditional dougong brackets, the China Hall looks like a crown in ancient China, so called "the Crown of the East".
    Walking along the Binjiang Avenue. Located in Pudong New area and across a river from the Bund, Binjiang Avenue is a landscape park with a length of 2,500 meters.
    Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

  • Be picked up from hotel at appointed time and transferred to Long Yanglu Station.
    Take the Maglev Train by yourselves to the airport.
