Brief Itinerary

Day 1. Be met from airport.
Day 2. Terracotta Warriors Museum, Stele Museum, Shopping for Rubbing of Stele Museum, Shopping for Painted pottery of Tang. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 3. Visit Xian City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Visit the shopping and entertainment area of Sleepless Tang Dynasty to do shopping. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 4. Shannxi History Museum, Small Wild Goose Pagoda and Xian Museum, Enjoy short performance of Shadow Opera. Shopping for crafts related with Shadow Opera. Visit a local street to discover local crafts and antique market. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 5. Visit a large local shopping mall of Xian. Visit Bell and Drum Tower Square. Dumpling dinner, Tang Dynasty Show. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival
Arrive in Xian.
Be met from airport by private vehicle and be transferred to hotel for checking in. Remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2. Terracotta Warriors Museum, Stele Museum, Shopping for Rubbing of Stele Museum, Shopping for Painted pottery of Tang.

Drive to visit Terracotta Warriors and Horse Museum. Terracotta Warriors is the Eighth Wonder of the World, because of its historical significance and uniqueness. It is the a form of funerary art buried with Emperor Qin Shihuang, the first unifier of China dating back to 210 BC. More than 6,000 different looking pottery figures depict the history of the Qin Dynasty from 221 BC-206 BC. Every figure differs from those around in facial features and expression, clothing, hairstyle, and gestures. 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses are scatted in three excavated pits.

Then visit Stele Museum. The Stele Forest is the largest stone stele library in China with 3000 steles in the museum. Most of the steles are from the Han Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty and the successive dynasties. Covering an area of 31,000 square meters, the building of museum a classical courtyard styled.
Shopping for Rubbing of Stele Museum

Then go to shopping for Painted pottery of Tang. Painted pottery of Tang also called "Tang Tri-Color Glazed Ceramics". It is a kind of glazed pottery popular made from low-fired earthenware in the Tang Dynasty. These painted potteries are rich in color. The shapes inlcluding camels, horses and and civil officials are vivid.

Be transferred to hotel after the tour.

Day 3. Xian City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Dynasty Sleepless City.

Drive to visit Xian City Wall. With a history of 600 years, Xian City Wall is the oldest, largest and best preserved city wall of China. It was used to be an important military defensive system to fortify the city. The Ancient City Wall boasts the gates, tunnels and watch towers. The South Gate and North Gate are the two main entrances to the inner city.

Then visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a landmark of Xian city. It was first built in 652AD for the storage of Buddhist sutras and figurines. The pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. The present 7-storey Pagoda was built with layers of bricks without any cement in between.

Move on to visit the shopping and entertainment area of Tang Dynasty Sleepless City to do shopping. Tang Dynasty Sleepless City is located on the foot of Big Wild Goose Pogoda. It is a one-stop comsumers' paradise with the culture of Tang Dynasty(618-907) in the background. Covering an area of 650,000 square meters, the Tang Dynasty Sleepless City consists of three theme squares, six Tang style simulation districts and four cluture buildings. The center is Zhenguan Cultural Square, including Xian Grand Theatre, Xian Concert Hall, Qujiang Art Gallery and Qujiang Pacifice Film City. Travellers would understand the Tang culter while enjoying shopping, dining and entertaining.

Day 4. Shannxi History Museum, Small Wild Goose Pagoda and Xian Museum, Shadow Opera, local street.

Drive to visit Shannxi History Museum. Shannxi History Museum is the first huge state museum with modern facilities in China, featuring an architectural style of the Tang Dynasty. It is the best cultural heritage of Shaanxi Province and shows the systematic development process of Chinese civilization. The museum houses over 300,000 items including murals, paintings, pottery, coins, as well as bronze, gold, and silver objects.

Then visit Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Built between 707 and 709AD during the Tang Dynasty, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda was originally a multi-eave, square-brick 45m high structure with 15 storeys. But a big earthquake in 1556 reduced it to the present 43m high pagoda with 13 levels of tiers. The pagoda has a brick frame built around a hollow interior. There is a staircase inside the pagoda which enables guests to reach the top.
Visit Xian Museum. Over 130,000 cultural objects shown in the exhibition area take the vivid record of Xi'an's splendid history.

Enjoy short performance of Shadow Opera. Shadow Opera is a traditional folk art in China. It is acted by colorful figures made from paper, which are manipulated by rods in the puppeteers. Accompanied by music and singing in Shaanxi dialect, the plays usually tell the legends and stories in the folk.
Shopping for crafts related with Shadow Opera.

Visit a local street to discover local crafts and antique market. The street is a 560-meter-long pedestrian street, with the Drum Tower in the south and memorial archway in the north. The buildings on both sides has the style of Ming and Qing dynasties. many kinds of delicious Muslim snacks in Xi'an and Shaanxi province can be found in this street.

Be transferred back to hotel after the tour.

Day 5. a large local shopping mall, Bell and Drum Tower Square, Dumpling dinner, Tang Dynasty Show.

Drive to visit a large local shopping mall of Xian. It is located in the southeast of Bell Tower, north of the East Street. It is a multi-functional and high-grade integrated mall, including commercial trade, catering services and office buildings.

Then visit Bell and Drum Tower Square. Bell and Drum Tower Square is the square between Bell Tower and Drum Tower. It is very beautiful when all lit up at night. Many local people gather here, dancing and singing. The Bell Tower in the east and Drum Tower in the west looks magnificent in the lights.

Have Dumpling dinner and enjoy Tang Dynasty Show. Chinese Dumpling is traditional food for Chinese New Year. With a history of about 1800 years, Chinese Dumpling had become a symbol of Chinese culture, expressing the people's wish for happy life. With different tastes, appearances and cooking techniques, dumpling dinner become a unmissable authentic dainty for travelers to Xian.
Tang Dynasty show is a performance of Chang'an music and dances that was originated in the Tang dynasty over a thousand years ago. The musicians present the music with the Tang-dynasty-style musical instruments and the dancers wear a Tang dynasty-style robe with long white silk sleeves. You will enjoy a national art reflecting the glory and richness of the Tang Dynasty era(618-907).
