Focus: Lugou Bridge and Beijing Man Site

Drive to visit Lugou Bridge. The Lugou Bridge is also named as Marco Polo Bridge because the eminent Italian explorer Marco Polo once described the bridge. The bridge was constructed between 1189 and 1192, and reconstructed later in 1698. The highlight of the bridge is the intriguing stone lions in varied styles.
Then visit Beijing Man Site. Discovered in the early 20th century,the Beijing Man Site provides a rich fund of fossilized materials of early hominids. It bears witness to the human communities of the Asian continent from the Middle Pleistocene to the Late Pleistocene (Pala-eolithic Age) and a civilization which has disappeared. The Beijing Man Site at Zhoukoudian was listed as World Heritage site in 1987.
