Brief Itinerary

Day 1. Be met from airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2. Be met by tour guide and private car, transfer to class room. 3 lessons of paper-cut.
Lunch, Visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park. Transfer back to hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 3. Be met by tour guide and driver, transfer to class room. Enjoy 3 lessons of paper-cut.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival
Arrive in Beijing.
Be met from airport by private vehicle and be transferred to hotel for checking in. Remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2. Learning Paper-cut, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park.

Transfer to to classroom to learn Paper-cut. Take 3 lessons of learning.

After lunch, we will visit Tiananmen Square. The Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world. Surrounded by many well-known cultural and political institutions, the square is the final resting place of Chairman Mao Zedong. The square has witnessed the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Enter the Palace Museum from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Known as Forbidden City, the Palace Museum is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. The palace was the exclusive domain of the imperial court for almost 500 years, 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty. As one of the World Cultural Relics, the palace consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.

Then visit Jingshan Park. Jingshan is an artificial hill made from the soil which was excavated for the moats of the Forbidden City. Jingshan consists of five individual peaks, and on the top of each peak there lies an elaborate pavilion. Once as an imperial garden, the Jingshan park was situated right on the north of the Forbidden City.

Transfer back to hotel after the tour.

Day 3. Learning Paper-cut, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace.

Transfer to to classroom to learn Paper-cut. Take 3 lessons of learning.

After lunch, we will visit Temple of Heaven.  Built in 1420 during Ming Dynasty, Temple of Heaven is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world. The emperor came to the temple every winter to pray for ample harvests and good weather. Strictly built on the basis of philosophical requirements, the temple in many ways features the relationship between Heaven and Earth.

Move on to visit Summer Palace. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. The Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.

Be transferred back to hotel after the tour.

Day 4. Badaling Great Wall, Learning Paper-cut..

Drive to visit Badaling Great Wall.  Located around 90 km northeast of Beijing, Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.
BBadaling was built in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty. This section of the Great Wall is the best preserved and most visited one. It is 7600 meters long and 1000 meters above sea level,commanding a strategic position in ancient times.

After lunch, we will drive back to Beijing city to take 2 lessons of Paper-cut.

Day 5. Learning Paper-cut, Beijing Zoo, outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube, Hutong.

Transfer to to classroom to learn Paper-cut. Take 2 lessons of learning.

After lunch, we will visit Beijing Zoo to see Great Panda. Beijing Zoo was built in 1955 on the foundation of Wansheng Garden of the Qing Dynasty. It is now the biggest zoo in China with the largest number of animal species. The highlight of Beijing Zoo is the national treasure-giant panda.

Have an outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube. As the main stadium of the 2008 Olympic Games, the National Stadium, also called Bird's Nest, is located in the southern part of central area of Beijing Olympic Park. The National Stadium was used to hold the Olympic Games, the opening and closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, track and field events and the Soccer finals.
National aquatics center is one of the landmark constructures during the 2008 Olympic Games. It was the major swimming pool constructed for the 2008 Olympic Games. National aquatics center and National Stadium are separately located on both sides of the northern end of Beijing city central axis and they together form a complete Beijing's image of a historical and cultural city.

Then visit Beijing Hutong. Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of hutong life. Man-power rickshaw is arranged for you to feel the Hutong of Beijing.
