Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival
Arrive in Beijing.
Be met from airport by private vehicle and be transferred to hotel for checking in. Remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2.Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace.
Be picked up from your hotel by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle at 08:30 am.

Visit Tiananmen Square. The Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world. Surrounded by many well-known cultural and political institutions, the square is the final resting place of Chairman Mao Zedong. The square has witnessed the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Enter the Palace Museum from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Known as Forbidden City, the Palace Museum is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. The palace was the exclusive domain of the imperial court for almost 500 years, 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty. As one of the World Cultural Relics, the palace consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.

Drive to visit Temple of Heaven.  Built in 1420 during Ming Dynasty, Temple of Heaven is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world. The emperor came to the temple every winter to pray for ample harvests and good weather. Strictly built on the basis of philosophical requirements, the temple in many ways features the relationship between Heaven and Earth.

Move on to visit Summer Palace. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. The Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.

Be transferred back to hotel after the tour.

Day 3.Ming Tombs, Mutianyu Great Wall.
Be picked up from your hotel by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle at 08:30 am.

Drive one and half hours to visit Ming Tomb, which is the final resting place of 13 Ming Dynasty emperors, along with 23 empresses and a number of concubines. It has a history of over 600 years. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the Ming Tombs features splendid landscape.
Chang Ling (the Tomb of Chang) was built by the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty in 1409 AD. Chang Ling is the largest tomb in architectural scale. The hall of Chang Ling is the largest structure of nanmu wood in China. Drive one and half hours to the famous Mutianyu Great Wall.

After lunch, we will drive to visit Mutianyu Great Wall.  Located around 90 km northeast of Beijing, Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.
Mutianyu section was first built in the mid-6th century. It is the longest fully-restored Great Wall with 22 original style watchtowers. Mutianyu Great Wall features picturesque landscape with 90% forest coverage rate. The scenery in spring and autumn is excellent. Mutianyu Great Wall is not so crowded as Badaling section.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.

Day 4.Jingshan Park, Houhai Area, Beijing Hutong, Old City Wall of Beijing, Outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube. Transfer to airport for departure.
Be picked up from your hotel by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle at 08:30 am.

Drive to visit Jinshan Park. Jingshan is an artificial hill made from the soil which was excavated for the moats of the Forbidden City. Jingshan consists of five individual peaks, and on the top of each peak there lies an elaborate pavilion. Once as an imperial garden, the Jingshan park was situated right on the north of the Forbidden City.

Then visit Houhai Area. It is a part of Shichahai Lake. The bar street in this area is famous in Beijing.

Then we will visit Beijing Hutong. Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of hutong life. Man-power rickshaw is arranged for you to feel the Hutong of Beijing.

Visit Old City Wall of Beijing. The Ming City Wall was first built in 1419, with a length of 24 kilometers. The only remaining relic is located between Chongwenmen and Southeast Coner Tower, about 1.5 kilometers long.It is considered as an important symbol of Beijing. The tower located on the southeast coner of the city wall is the only and biggest tower around the city wall's coner. It was first built in 1436 as military defensive structure.

Have an outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube. As the main stadium of the 2008 Olympic Games, the National Stadium, also called Bird's Nest, is located in the southern part of central area of Beijing Olympic Park. The National Stadium was used to hold the Olympic Games, the opening and closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, track and field events and the Soccer finals.

National aquatics center is one of the landmark constructures during the 2008 Olympic Games. It was the major swimming pool constructed for the 2008 Olympic Games. National aquatics center and National Stadium are separately located on both sides of the northern end of Beijing city central axis and they together form a complete Beijing's image of a historical and cultural city.

Be transferred to airport for departure after the tour.
