Introduction of Li River

  • Li River boasts the biggest and the most beautiful Karst landscape. It is the highlight of Guilin landscape. Li River originates in Mao'er Mountain in Xing'an County, the northeast of Guilin, winding its way southeast through Lingchuan, Guilin, Yangshuo, Pingle, and is called Gui River from the estuary in Gongcheng, where it flows to Wuzhou. The total length is 164 kilometers (from Mao'er Mountain to Gongcheng). The section from Guilin to Yangshuo is the most picturesque, featured with clear waters, green hills, fantastic caves and wonderful cliffs.

  • The best way to enjoy the Li River Landscape is taking a cruise tour. The tour is from Mopanshan Pier or Zhujiang Pier to Yangshuo. This section is the essence of the Li River scenery. Taking a cruise over the river, you will enjoy the picturesque mountains, peaceful green fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering around on both sides of the river bank. The cruise lasts about 4.5 hours.

Some seem to be running, some just lying there, some are whinnying and others playing. These images have been present on the mountain side for centuries, which were regarded as a wonder.
    • Yellow Cloth Shoal Reflection Yellow Cloth Shoal Reflection is a highlight of Li River Cruise. Located in the Ancient Town of Xingping, Yellow Cloth Shoal got its name a huge yellow flagstone under the clear water which looks like a piece of yellow cloth was tiled on the river bed. There are seven hills along the bank of this area. In sunny days, the green peaks under the blue sky are reflected on the quiet water, which creates a charming picture of landscapes with lush bamboos.
    • Yangdi Village With 3000 people population, Yangdi Village is suite on the bank of Li River. The Yangdi sightseeing area is the section between Yangdi village and Xinping Village. About 18km long, this section has the most beautiful and unique peaks. When the water is low in winter, the section of Li River in Guilin dried, Yangdi become the beginning of Li Rive Cruise.
    • Xingping Ancient Town Xingping Ancient Town was the largest ancient town along the Li River. The town was first built 1700 years ago. Surrounded by charming nature scenery, the traditional architectures of Ming Dynasty are mostly well-preserved at Xingping Ancient Street and Fishing Village. The highlights of Li River Cruise, Nine-horse Fresco Hill, Yellow cloth reflection and Lotus Cave, the background picture of 20 Yuan Renminbi can be found in this area.
    • Green Lotus Peak Green Lotus Peak is on the west bank of Li River in Yangshuo Country and is the main peak of Yangshuo. It is the last scence of Li River Cruise. Looking from a distance, the peak is like blooming lotus flower. From the top of the peak, visitors will enjoy charming scenery combining with numerous peaks, white clouds, green villages, Li River and Yangshuo Country.
