Shanghai Suzhou Zhouzhuang 5 Days Family Tour

Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1.Arrival, Shanghai Museum, People's Square, Shikumen Museum, Nanjing Road, the Bund.  
• 
  Be met from Shanghai airport or train station by private guide and escorted to visit Shanghai Museum. The museum is a comprehensive museum with a round top and a square base, which symbolizes the old Chinese philosophy. More than 120,000 pieces of cultural relics are on display showcase Chinese ancient history and art.
  Proceed to People's Square, one of the landmarks of Shanghai City. The square is a garden square where the Shanghai Municipal Government Mansion located.
• Move on to Shikumen Museum. The museum in fact is a Shikumen house in 1930s. It completely restores the room setting and reproduces living scene of a middle class family at that time.
  Go to "the first commercial street in China", Nanjing Road. The road is a shopping paradise with many large shopping malls, traditional old stores, specialty stores and restaurants.
  Continue to the Bund. As an important symbol of Shanghai city, the Bund(Waitan) is a mile-long waterfront along the Huangpu River. It is famous for extensive collection of European buildings with different architectural styles.
  Be delivered to the hotel to check in.

• Day 2. Zhouzhuang Water Town.    
• 
  Be picked up from hotel lobby at 08:30 in the morning.
  Drive about two hours to Zhouzhuang Water Town. With well-preserved houses, ancient stone bridges, elegant watery scenes and local culture, Zhouzhuang Water Town was titled as one of the "top ten tourist attractions in China favored by the European people". You can take a cruise on the river at your own cost.
• After the tour, be transferred back to the hotel in Shanghai.

• Day 3. Suzhou One Day Tour: Humble Administator's Garden, Grand Canal, Ping Jiang Ancient Street.    
• 
  Be picked up from hotel lobby at 08:30 in the morning.
  Drive to Suzhou to visit Humble Administator's Garden. With a history of more than 500 years, Humble Administator's Garden is one of four most famous gardens in China and the largest of the classical gardens in Suzhou.
• Then visit the Grand Canal in Suzhou, which makes a circuit around Suzhou Old City. Walk along the canal to appreciate the whitewashed houses, ancient city gates and various bridges along the canal.
  Move on to Ping Jiang Ancient Street. With a history of about 800 years old, Ping Jiang Ancient Street still maintaining its features of ancient Chinese water town. It is a miniature of ancient Suzhou City.
  After the tour, be transferred back to the hotel in Shanghai.

• Day 4. Yu Garden, Yu Market, Chinese Brush Pen and Ink Museum, Wukang Road, Pudong New Area, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Outside view of China Hall of Shanghai Expo, Binjiang Avenue.

  Be picked up from hotel lobby at 08:30 in the morning.
  Start today's tour with Yu Garden, a traditional garden in southern China. The pavilions, halls, cloisters are decorated with exquisite carvings. The bridges, ponds, and rockeries are linked by zigzagging stone paths.
  Visit Yu Market near the Yu Garden. This market with Ming and Qing style architectures is always busy and crowded.
  Proceed to Chinese Brush Pen and Ink Museum, a museum focused on the traditional Chinese painting tools. Some masterpieces of various styles of ancient art and calligraphy can also be found here.
  Then go to Wukang Road. Wukang Road is a historic road famous for plane trees and old villas. Many celebrities once lived in the European-style buildings.
• After lunch, head to Pudong New Area. The area is the epitome of Shanghai's modernization.
  Then go up the Oriental Pearl TV Tower to have a bird's eye view of Shanghai City. With 468 meters high in total, Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the world’s third and Asia's tallest TV and radio tower when it was completed in 1995.
  Have a outside view of China Hall of Shanghai Expo. With the theme of China's intelligence, China Hall in 2010 Shanghai Expo looks like a crown in ancient China. it was made of traditional dougong brackets.
  Walk along the Binjiang Avenue. known as the east Bund of Shanghai, Binjiang Avenue is a perfect place to see the modern Shanghai and the Bund across the Huangpu River.
  After the tour, be transferred back to the hotel.

• Day 5. Departure.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at appointed time and transferred to train station or to Longyang Road Station where you can take the Maglev Train to airport.
