Huanghuacheng Great Wall | Day 2. |
Pick up from your downtown hotel.
Hiking along Huanghuacheng Great Wall. The Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.
Huanghuacheng Great Wall is one of the most difficult sections for hikers. It is completely unreconstructed. The view as you climb to the top is stunning.

Mutianyu Great Wall | Day 3. |

Hiking along Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings - dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of the year. The wall winds its way over 1000 meters to the crest of a mountain before turning sharply and dipping downhill, forming a triangle known as the Ox-Horn Wall, Two unique features of this section are the double battlements and branch walls found throughout the area. see Mutianyu Great Wall map.

Badaling Great Wall | Day 4. |
Pick up from your downtown hotel.
Hiking along Badaling Great Wall. With large, heavily fortified towers found along the wall every 300 to 500 meters, Badaling is known for its imposing magnitude. The wall here averages 7.8 meters in height and has a width of 5.7 meters at the top and 6.5 meters at the base. The walkway on top is 4.5 meters wide, making it possible for five horses or ten soldiers to march abreast.

Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace | Day 5 |

Visit Forbidden City. Forbidden City also called Palace Museum and is located at the center of Beijing. It was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the world's largest palace complex. Take sightseeing in Forbidden City along the central axis for 1.5 to 2 hours.
After lunch in local restaurant, visit Temple of Heaven. Built in 1420 during Ming Dynasty, Temple of Heaven is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world. The emperor came to the temple every winter to pray for ample harvests and good weather. Strictly built on the basis of philosophical requirements, the temple in many ways features the relationship between Heaven and Earth.
Have sightseeing for 1 hour.
Then visit Summer Palace. Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.
Take sightseeing in this attraction for about one hour.

Beijing Hutong and Departure | Day 6. |

Transfer to Beijing Hutong. Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of hutong life. Man-power rickshaw is arranged for you to feel the Hutong of Beijing.
