Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival
Arrive in Beijing.
Be met from airport by private vehicle and be transferred to hotel for checking in. Remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Beijing Aquarium.

Visit Tiananmen Square. The Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in the world. Surrounded by many well-known cultural and political institutions, the square is the final resting place of Chairman Mao Zedong. The square has witnessed the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Enter the Palace Museum from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Known as Forbidden City, the Palace Museum is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. The palace was the exclusive domain of the imperial court for almost 500 years, 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty. As one of the World Cultural Relics, the palace consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.

After lunch, we will visit Beijing Aquarium in the Beijing Zoo. Beijing Aquarium is now the world's largest, modernest and advanced Marine life Museum in the world. It has the largest construction area and total volume of water. It also has the largest collection of sea lives. 1,000 species of 30,000 to 50,000 sea lives are fed in the first artificial seawater in the aquarium.

Be transferred back to hotel after the tour.

Day 3. Badaling Great Wall, China Aviation Museum, Take outside view of Bird Nest.

Drive to visit Badaling Great Wall.  Located around 90 km northeast of Beijing, Great Wall was built and maintained between the 7th century BC and 17th century BC. It was originally built to protect the empire from northern invaders. The Great Wall stretches through the countryside over deserts, hills and plains for 8,851.8 kilometers.
BBadaling was built in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty. This section of the Great Wall is the best preserved and most visited one. It is 7600 meters long and 1000 meters above sea level,commanding a strategic position in ancient times.

After lunch, we will visit China Aviation Museum. China Aviation Museum is the first large aviation museum opened to the public in China. It is the highlight of aviation treasures in Asia. The museum collects more than one hundred kinds of models over a total of more than 200 aircrafts. There are also air missiles, artillery, air defense radar, aviation bombs and etc. The exhibitions in Aviation Museum can be compared with Military Museum. It is a good place for children to visit.

Have an outside view of Bird Nest. As the main stadium of the 2008 Olympic Games, the National Stadium, also called Bird's Nest, is located in the southern part of central area of Beijing Olympic Park. The National Stadium was used to hold the Olympic Games, the opening and closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, track and field events and the Soccer finals.

Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour at around 18:00.

Day 4. Summer Palace, Paleozoological Museum of China, Beijing Hutong by rickshaw.

Driver to visit visit Summer Palace. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, including 70,000 square meters of building space. The Summer Palace perfectly combines the natural landscape of hills and open water with humankind works such as pavilions, halls, palaces and bridges. In 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.

Move on visit Paleozoological Museum of China. Paleozoological Museum of China is the largest specialized museum in Asia for the topic of the evolution of vertebrate animals. The valued exbitions include Latimeria(a "living fossil" lobe-finned fish from Africa), Mamenchisaurus(the largest dinosaur in Aisa), Lufengosaurus huenei (the first dinosaur occurred in China), skeleton of ancient Yellow River elephant, and the skull models of the mysterious "Peking Man".

Then we will visit Beijing Hutong. Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Most of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of hutong life. Man-power rickshaw is arranged for you to feel the Hutong of Beijing.
