Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1. Entry Beijing.  

  • Upon your flight or train arrives in Beijing, your private guide will wait at the exit of the airport or train station.
    Transfer you to hotel for check in.

  • Day 2. Beijing: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Olympic Park.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 08:30am.
    Start your trip with Tiananmen Square, the biggest downtown Square in the world. Take a stroll in the square.
    Then visit Forbidden City. Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the world's largest palace complex. It was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
  • After lunch in a local restaurant, we will drive 30 minutes to Summer Palace. Known as the "Museum of Royal Gardens", Summer Palace is the best-preserved and largest royal garden existing in China.
    Move on to Olympic Park. As the major venue of the 2008 Olympic Games, the park contains the two famous stadiums, Bird's Nest and Water Cube.
    Transfer you back to the hotel after the tour.

  • Day 3. Beijing: Ming Tombs, Badaling Great Wall.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 08:30am.
    Drive to Ming Tombs. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Ming Tombs is the best preserved tomb area with mausoleums of 13 emperors of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
    We will visit the largest and the first built tomb, Changling. The Ling'en Hall in the Changling is the largest and the most magnificent building of nanmu wood that still exists in China.
  • Proceed to Badaling Great Wall in the afternoon. Built in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty, Badaling is the best preserved and most popular section of the China Great Wall. Cable car is optional at your own expense.

  • Day 4. Beijing Hutong, Temple of Heaven, flight to Xian.   Arrive in Xian.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 08:30am.
    Visit Beijing Hutong in Shichahai area. Hutongs are lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Take a man-power rickshaw to feel the culture and life style of old Beijing.
    Proceed to Temple of Heaven, the place where the Emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty prayed for peace and harvest. It is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world.
  • After lunch, driver you to airport for the flight to Xian.

    Your local guide will meet you at Xian airport and escort your to check in the hotel.

  • Day 5. Xian: Terracotta Army, Huaqing Pool, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Dynasty Show.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 08:30am.
    Drive to Terracotta Army, the Eighth Wonder of the World. More than 6,000 different looking pottery figures depict the history of the Qin Dynasty from 221 BC-206 BC.
  • Go on to Huaqing Pool. Huaqing Pool is a resort place of many emperors in ancient times. It had been used as royal gardens for 3000 years.
    Then visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda. With a history of more than 1300 years, Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the landmarks of Xian. Except the important position in Buddhism, the pagoda is also a masterpiece with its marvelous architectural styles.
  • Watch Tang Dynasty Show after dinner. The show showcases the glory and richness of Tang Dynasty (618-907) with music, dance and costumes.
    Transfer you back to the hotel after the show.

  • Day 6. Xian: Shaanxi History Museum, Great Mosque, Ancient City Wall, Bell and Drum Tower Square.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 08:30am.
    Proceed to Shaanxi History Museum. The museum houses more than 370,000 historic and cultural relics presenting the history and culture of Shaanxi province and ancient China.
    Move on to Great Mosque. Built in 742 AD during the Tang Dynasty, Great Mosque is the largest and best-preserved Islamic mosque in China. It is a construction with strong Chinese architectural features.
  • Visit Ancient City Wall after lunch. Xian City Wall was the solid defensive system at the ancient time. It is the oldest, largest and best preserved city wall in China.
    Continue to Bell and Drum Tower Square. The square is the good place to enjoy outside view of Bell and Drum Tower. Many local people come here to relax and enjoy leisure time.
    Transfer you back to the hotel after the tour.

  • Day 7. Xian flight to Lhasa.   Arrive in Lhasa, Nietang Buddha.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel in the morning.
    Drive you to airport for the flight to Lhasa.

  • Your local guide will meet you at Lhasa airport.
    Visit Nietang Buddha on the way to your hotel. Named after Mt. Nietang, Nietang Buddha is the biggest stone statue engraved on a cliff in Tibet.
    Check in the hotel in Lhasa.

  • Day 8. Lhasa: Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka Park.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 09:00am.
    Start your trip with Potala Palace. Originally built in the seventh century, Potala Palace is the highest ancient palace in the world. It is famous for its grand architecture, delicate artworks as well as the strong religious atmosphere.
    Continue to Sera Monastery. As one of the three largest monasteries in Lhasa, Sera Monastery enjoys good reputation among visitor by its buildings of Tibetan style, Buddhist culture, and Buddhist Scriptures debating.
  • Visit Norbulingka Park in the afternoon. Built in 1751 during the reign of the seventh Dalai Lama, Norbulingka Park was served as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama. It has 374 rooms of different sizes.

  • Day 9. Lhasa: Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 09:00am.
    Drive to Drepung Monastery. The monastery was established in 1416 and is known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism. It mainly consists of Ganden Potrang, Cogen Hall, Kamcuns as well as 4 Zhacangs.
  • Proceed to Jokhang Temple. With a history of more than 1300 years, Jokhang Monastery holds a high status in Tibetan Buddhism. It is the ultimate pilgrimage destination of Tibetan Buddhists.
    Take a stroll on Barkhor Street Bazaar. Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble here.
    Transfer you back to the hotel after the tour.

  • Day 10. Lhasa – Gyantze – Shigatse.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 09:00am.
    Leave for Shigatse. On the way, we will visit pass by Yamdrok Lake, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet.
    Then pass by Carola Glacier, one of the three major continental glaciers in Tibet. The glacier has various layers in the ice stack.
  • Reach Gyantze and visit Palkhor Monastery. It is a monastery combing three major sects of the Tibetan Buddhism, Sakya, Kadampa and Gelug sects. More than 100,000 Buddha statues can be found in the monastery.
    Move on to TSONG BURG. With a history of more than 600 years, this castle is the best preserved dzongs in Tibet. You can overlook the Gyangze County and watch Baiju Temple from the castle.
    Arrive in Shigatse and check in the hotel.

  • Day 11. Shigatse – Dingri.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 09:00am.
    Drive to Tashilhunpo Monastery. The monastery is the seat of the Panchen Lama, and the largest functioning religious institution in Tibet.
  • Then proceed to Dingri and overnight.

  • Day 12. Dingri- Everest Base Camp.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 09:00am.
    Start to Everest Base Camp. Explore the Everest within permitted area.
  • Visit Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world.
    Stay overnight in tent at Everest base camp (If you feel Altitude sickness, we will return to Dingri).

  • Day 13. Everest Base Camp – Shigatse.  

  • It is too long to return Lhasa within one day time. We have to stay one night on the way in Shigatse.

  • Day 14. Shigatse – Lhasa.  

  • Arrive in Lhasa in the afternoon. Remainder of the day is for resting in the hotel.

  • Day 16. Shanghai: Yu Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Nanjing Road, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, The Bund.  

  • Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 08:30am.
    First go to visit Yu Garden. With a history of over 400 years, Yu Garden presents the classic garden style of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
    Then visit Jade Buddha Temple. The temple is the location of the Shanghai Buddhist Institute. It houses two precious jade statues of the Sakyamuni Buddha, one seated and one reclining.
    Continue to Nanjing Road, one of the most famous and bustling business streets in the world. With a history of over 100 years, Nanjing Road is a shopping paradise with over 600 businesses.
  • Proceed to Oriental Pearl TV Tower in the afternoon. With a height of 468 meters, Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the world's sixth tallest TV and radio tower. It combines ancient concepts with 21st Century technology.
    Move on to The Bund. The Bund was the centre of Shanghai's politics, economy and culture hundreds of years ago and the location of consulates of most countries. 52 various European-style buildings stand side by side on The Bund.
