Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1. Dunhuang arrival, Echoing-Sand Mountain and Crescent Moon Lake.  
• 
  Arrival in Dunhuang.
  English speaking guide of Beijingservice will meet you at the exit of airport or train station.
• Proceed to Echoing-Sand Mountain and Crescent Moon Lake Scenic Area.
  Echoing-Sand Mountain is a sand mountain range surrounded by rolling ridges and precipitous cliffs. Composed of tinny sands of five colors, the sand dunes have different shapes. When wind blows, the sand makes various sounds, so named "Echoing-Sand Mountain".
  Encircled by the Echoing-Sand Mountain, Crescent Moon Lake is reputed as "the first spring in the desert" and has been one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Dunhuang" since the Han Dynasty (202 BC-220 AD).This coexistence of desert and lake is really a wonder.
  Afterwards, transfer you to the hotel for check in.

• Day 2. Mogao Grottoes, Dunhuang Museum.  
• 
  Your guide will pick you up from hotel at 09:00am.
  Visit Mogao Grottoes in the morning. First constructed in 366AD, Mogao Grottoes is the largest-scale and richest-content site of Buddha art in the world. It houses 735 caves, 45,000 square meters of murals and 2,415 painted sculptures.
• Move on to Dunhuang Museum in the afternoon. Established in 1979 with an area of 2400 square meters, this museum houses more than 4000 pieces of cultural relics from primitive society to the end of the Qing Dynasty. The material objects providing the plenty evidences to "Silk Road" are also exhibited here.
  Transfer you back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 3. Dunhuang departure.

  Your guide will pick you up from hotel at appointed time and escort you to airport or train station to see off.
