Detailed Itinerary
- Day 1. Entry Lhasa, Nietang Buddha.
You will be picked up by private guide at arrival hall of Lhasa airport or train station.
Visit the Nietang Buddha on the way to your hotel. Named after Mt. Nietang, Nietang Buddha is the biggest stone statue engraved on a cliff in Tibet and is the first attraction to welcome visitors to Lhasa.
Check in Hotel. Remainder of the days is at leisure.
You can walk slowly near your hotel to get yourself to accommodate to the anoxic altiplano. - , ,
- Day 2. Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka Park.
Be picked up from hotel at 09:00am.
Drive to Potala Palace. Originally constructed by King Songtsen Gampo in 637, Potala Palace is landmark of Lhasa. It is the highest ancient palace in the world, integrating palace, castle and monastery. The palace mainly consisted of two parts: the White Palace and the Red Palace.- Then visit Sera Monastery, one of the three largest monasteries of Gelugpa. The Buddhism Scriptures Debating in Sera Monastery is very famous. Many murals are maintained in perfect, original condition.
Move on to Norbulingka Park. Built in 1751 during the reign of the seventh Dalai Lama, Norbulingka Park was served as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama where they handled political affairs and practiced religious activities. It is the largest and finest garden in Tibet. There are many green trees and various flowers in the park.
Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour. - Breakfast, Lunch,
- Day 3. Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street Bazaar, Tibet Museum.

Visit Drepung Monastery first. As the largest monastery in Lhasa and even in Tibet, Drepung Monastery is the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery houses many cultural relics, such as Statues of Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Sitatapatra found on the first storey of the Coqen Hall.
Then proceed to Jokhang Temple. Featuring architectural styles of the Tang Dynasty, Tibet and Nepal, Jokhang Temple is the holiest site in Tibet and the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Buddhists. The precious treasure is the statue of 12-year-old Sakyamuni sitting in the central hall.- Go on to Barkhor Street Bazaar. Barkhor Street is an ancient circular street surrounding the Jokhang Temple with a strong religious atmosphere and exotic flavor. Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble here.
Continue to Tibet Museum. With the traditional Tibetan architectural style, the museum shows the splendid culture and long history of Tibetan nationality from the aspects of history, culture, art, religion and folk customs.
