Brief Itinerary

  • Day 1. Arrival.  
  • Day 2. Ming Tombs(Dingling),Badaling Great Wall.   
  • Day 3. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace.  
  • Day 4. Panda House, Olympic Park, Lama Temple, Beijing Hutong, Jingshan Park, Beijing Opera.  
  • Day 5. Departure.  

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1. Arrival.  

  • Arrive in Beijing. You will be met from the exit of Beijing Airport or train station and transferred to hotel for check in.

  • Day 2. Ming Tombs(Dingling),Badaling Great Wall.   

  • You will be picked up from hotel at appointed time(between 7:00am and 7:30am).
    Drive to Ming Tombs, the best preserved tomb area with most emperors' mausoleums. Visit Dingling Tomb and its Underground Palace for one hour. It is the only one of the Ming Tombs excavated so far. More than 3000 pieces of precious treasure were unearthed.
    Then have a short visit of Jade Carving Factory. The jade carving is a famous special Chinese product, a blend of the excellent skill on carving and Chinese traditional cultures.
  • After lunch, proceed to Badaling Great Wall. As one of the seven wonders in the world, great wall is a must-go attraction when you are in Beijing. Badaling is the most visited section. Hike Badaling Great Wall for about 2 hours. Cable car is available and optional.
    On the way back to hotels, we will go to enjoy Chinese traditional Tea Ceremony.
    You will be transferred back to your hotel at about 5:00pm to 6:00pm.

  • Day 3. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace.  

  • Drive to Tiananmen Square, the largest city plaza in the world. The square has witnessed the founding of the People's Republic of China.
    Proceed to Forbidden City. As the largest imperial palace complex in the world, Forbidden City was listed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. It was once the home of 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties(1420-1912). Visit the Forbidden City along the central axis from south to north for 2 hours.
    Then have a short visit of Chinese medicine shop and get some knowledge of Chinese traditional medicine culture.
    Afterwards, visit Temple of Heaven for about one hour. Built in 1420 during Ming Dynasty, Temple of Heaven is the masterpiece of Chinese ritual architecture. It was the place where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties came to perform worship to the God of Heaven and pray for good harvests.
  • After lunch, we will take a short visit of pearl free market. You may see how to open a shell to get out fresh water pearl.
    Head to Summer Palace, the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. It was first built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty as a summer resort. Visit this royal garden for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
    You will be transferred back to your hotel at about 6:00pm.

  • Day 4. Panda House, Olympic Park, Lama Temple, Beijing Hutong, Jingshan Park, Beijing Opera.  

  • You will be picked up from hotel at appointed time(between 7:30am and 8:30am).
    Drive to Panda House in Beijing Zoo to see China's national animal, lovely giant pandas.
    Then go to Olympic Park to see the main stadiums for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, including the famous Bird Nest and Water Cube. If you want to discover the inner structure of the stadiums, the tickets are on your cost.
    Afterwards, visit Lama Temple for one hour. The temple was once a prince residence and converted an official Tibetan Buddhist lamasery in 1744.
    The lunch will be arranged in a typical Beijing resident's house.
  • After lunch, we will visit the old Beijing Hutong by taking rickshaws for about 2 hours. Beijing Hutongs are narrow lanes surrounded by traditional courtyard residences. They reflect the traditional culture and way of life of old Beijingers.
    Head to Jingshan Park, Once as an imperial garden, the Jingshan Park was situated right on the north of the Forbidden City. From the top of the Jingshan Hill, you can enjoy the full and clear view of Forbidden City.
    Then we will take a short visit to a Silk Shop to enjoy Chinese Traditional Silk Arts.
    You will be transferred back to your hotel at about 4:00pm. You can take a rest and have dinner in hotel.
  • At about 6:00pm, you will be picked up again from hotel to watch the Beijing Opera Show. The show time is from 7:30pm to 8:50pm. You can enjoy the unfolding stories, beautiful paintings, exquisite costumes and graceful gestures.
    You will be transferred back to your hotel after the show.

  • Day 5. Departure.  

  • You will be picked up from hotel at appointed time by private vehicle and transferred to airport or train station for departure.
