Beijing 6 Days Spring Tour with Mutianyu and Gubeikou Great Wall

Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1. Beijing Entry.  
• 
  Arrive in Beijing.
  Be met from airport or train station by private guide and transferred to hotel for checking in.
• Free for the remainder of the day.

• Day 2. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Beihai Park, Houhai Area.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30 in the morning.
  Visit Tiananmen Square firstly. As the largest public square in the world, Tiananmen Square has the important position for Chinese people. It is the place where many political and historical events took place.
  Enter the Forbidden City from the north end of the Tiananmen Square. This world's largest palace complex was the the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties(1368-1911). It consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, total 980 buildings.
• Then visit Temple of Heaven. With a history of over 600 years, Temple of Heaven is the largest sacrificial building complex in the world featuring precise structure and magnificent decoration. You can find the largest apricot grove will full blossom in downtown Beijing in the temple.
  Move on to Beihai Park to enjoy one of the eights views of old Beijing, "Spring Shade Over Qiong Islet". The park is the oldest and best-preserved imperial garden in China.
  Proceed to Houhai Area. Take a walking along the Houhai Lake and see new green willow leaves, yellow winter jasmine and ducks playing in the water.
  Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 3. Mutianyu Great Wall, Summer Palace.   
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30 in the morning.
  Drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. This section is the longest fully-restored Great Wall with 23 original watchtowers. Mutianyu features magnificent ancient constructions and breathtaking nature sceneries.
• Visit Summer Palace in the afternoon. Built in 1750 in Qing Dynasty as a summer resort, Summer Palace is the best-preserved imperial garden in the world. In spring, Summer Palace comes into a mass of blossom, especially the peach flowers, which bloom earlier and more vigorously than other places in Beijing.
  Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 4. Full day tour to Gubeikou Great Wall.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30 in the morning.
  Have a full day hiking on Gubeikou Great Wall. Gubeikou Great Wall was an important strategic pass constructed in 1368, with 14 beacon towers and 143 watch towers. It is a dangerous and splendid section of the Great Wall. In the spring, Apricot is full of mountain. It is very beautiful.
• We will have lunch on the great wall. Please prepare food by yourselves.
  Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 5. Beijing Botanical Garden, Outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube, Beijing Hutong, Taoranting Park, Beijing Roast Duck Dinner, Acrobatic Show.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30 in the morning.
  Drive to visit Beijing Botanical Garden. More than 1.5 million flowers of nearly 100 species in the garden blossom in spring, including peach blossoms, plum blossoms, tulips, begonias, peonies, and so on.
  Then go to have an outside view of the two main stadiums for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Bird Nest and Water Cube. Bird Nest is the largest steel structural stadium and the Water Cube is largest membrane structure stadium in the world.
• After lunch, head to visit Beijing Hutong in Shichahai Area. Take a pedicab to discover the narrow lanes and traditional courtyard residences, which represent the culture and way of life of old Beijingers.
  Move on to Taoranting Park. This park contains hills, lakes, ancient temple and 36 elegant pavilions, including ten full sized replicas of well-known pavilions in China. With soft wind and colorful flowers, the park is a good place to walk around in spring.
• For dinner, we will taste the famous Beijing dish, Roast Duck. Eating Beijing duck is seen to be one of the must-do things while traveling in Beijing.
  Enjoy the Acrobatic Show at night. You will be amazed by the performers' strength, balance, flexibility and endurance beauty of human body.
  Be transferred back to the hotel after the show.

• Day 6. Beijing Exit.

  Be picked up from hotel at appointed time and delivered to the airport or train station to see off.
