The first site, built in the Ming Dynasty (1504), was Chang'an Temple, inside which is an Exhibition Museum. The second site is the best preserved one from the Tang Dynasty. It has a 13-storied Buddha's Tooth Relic Pagoda (Temple of Lingguang). Inside the Courtyard is an Apricot Tree dating from the Yuan Dynasty. Usually tourists start their walk from the third site and a chair lift carries them up the hill to visit each one.

Legend of the Goldfish in Lingguang Temple
One autumn, the Empress Dowager Cixi came to Lingguang Temple to worship. She went to the water heart pavilion of the Goldfish Pool to have a rest. Suddenly, a goldfish which was as big as the baby swam to her and jumped and danced. It looked like welcoming Cixi. Cixi was quite happy. A little eunuch went near and told Cixi that all creatures were following Cixi's Will. Cixi was much happier. She took off her gold earrings and ordered the little eunuch to put it in through the gill. She named the goldfish God fish.

Legend of Xiangfei's Soul in Xiangjie Temple
It is said that during the years of Emperor Qianlong in Qing dynasty, there was a monk named Guifang (some called him Haiyou) in Xiangjie Temple. He was good at Buddha inscriptions. Each time Emperor Qianlong came here to escape the heat, he would be accompanied. One day, Qianlong came to Xiangjie Temple again. While chatting, Guifang read that the emperor looked emaciated. He was told that the emperor's favored Xiangfei (Fragrance Concubine) died because of the sudden illness. The emperor missed her so much. Then the monk Guifang sent to bring a copper magic mirror in the hall. And he also took out the Revive Canon and burned the incense. He told the emperor to take a bath and wait in the midnight and never go near. The emperor accepted. Then the monk began to read the sutra. In the midnight, the emperor heard voice of the instrument which was Xiangfei's love. The mirror shone and Xiangfei came out of it. Qianlong forgot Guifang's word and went to Xiangfei. Suddenly, the mirror cracked and Xiangfei disappeared. But the music was still there. Xiangfei was singing about her homeland. Qianlong got that Xiangfei wanted to go home. And when he went to the royal palace, he sent Xiangfei's mortal remains back to her hometown. Qianlong realized his dream and he recovered. He was so glad that he repaired Xiangjie Temple and build a summer palace there.
Legend of the Golden Kang in Dabei Temple
Long long ago, there were really two tall female ginkgo trees. No one knew when and who planted the trees. Each autumn, the leaves turned yellow and fell on the ground with the wind. Soon, there were thick leaves on the ground which was quite beautiful. Visitors all loved to sit on the thick yellow leaves and children lay and played on the leaves. People called the thick leaves Golden Kang. It was really comfortable like Kang.
One day, a child found a coin in the leaves while he was playing on them. His mom was so glad that she told her son to burn incense and kowtowed to the Bodhisattva. This was transferred from mouth to mouth and people all believed that this mom and son were from heaven and they were sending money to the world. From then on, more and more people went to the Golden Kang and sat on it to try to find coins. Monks in the temple made use of this subject. They put coins in the leaves in the night when there were no visitors. And soon, more and more visitors went to Dabei Temple. But unluckily, an old man smoked while sitting on the Golden Kang one day. And carelessly, the fireworks fell on the soft leaves. A big fire broke in the temple. It not only destroyed the ginkgo tress, but also destroyed the palace. The next spring, two new ginkgo trees grew out of the old place. Now they are 500 years old. And in autumn, the fallen leaves are still like the Golden Kang.
Legend of the Red Leaves in Badachu Park
Long long ago, there were no red leaves but only green trees in Badachu. A stone craftsman lived with his only daughter Maple at the foot of the West Mountain. Some day, they found a treasure basin in the mountain. From then on they usually gave food and clothes which were turned out by the treasure basin to the poor folks. Over time, the greedy rich man heard about this. One day, when the old stone craftsman was not at home, the greedy rich man went his home with his family servants to rob the treasure basin. Maple held the treasure basin and ran to the top of the mountain. The greedy rich man and his family servants chased after Maple. Maple ran and ran, her red dress was broken. One and another piece of her dress were hanged on the branches. Her skin was broken. One and another drop of blood fell on the green leaves. Maple ran and ran. She ran out all three mountains in Badachu. At last, she ran to the top of the mountain. When she was nearly caught by the greedy rich man, she jumped off the cliff. From then on, maple leaves in the place where Maple ran across all turned red. People said that the red maple leaves were dyed by Maple's blood.
