- Being a street focused on Chinese culture related goods, Liulichang Street is also called Liulichang Ancient Culture Steet; with a Chinese name '琉璃厂' or '琉璃厂古文化街'. It is a place to go when travelers are interested in the Chinese culture.
Introduction
Being a traditional style street around 750 meters long, Liulichang Street located south are of downtown Beijing, covering both state-run and privately owned shops.
Also know as Liulichang Antique Street street, the street focused on Chinese culture related goods. It is a good idea to spend one hour at Liulichang Street is you are interested in Chinese culture related products.

History
A colored glaze factory was build in this area, to produce glazed tiles for buildings. The glazed is called 'LiuLi', factory is called 'Chang' in Chinese, hense it got the name LiliChang.
In Ming and Qing times, Liulichang was a favorite haunt for scholars, painters and calligraphers that gathered there to write, compile and purchase books, as well as to paint and compose poetry. And some businessmen sell books, painting, curios and products of study in the street.

Built in a pedestrian street, Liulichang Street is focused on Chinese traditional folk arts and cultural related products.
Name chops, scroll paintings, antiques, brush-pen, paper, book binding, carving, jade, tea, tradotonal Chinese shoes, kites, swords, walking sticks, door knockers, Buddhist statuaries, chopsticks and even silk are all possible be found in the street.

Liuxichang Street is located 0.5km south of Hepingmen (Peace) Gate, 1 km east of Qianmen Avenue and 2 km southwest of Tiananmen Square.
Places Nearby
Hepingmen Quanjude Peking Duck Restaurant, Qianmen Avenue, Tiananmen Saure, Temple of Heaven, OX street and National Theater are within walking distance from Liulichang Street.
Venders
Rongbaozhai, China Bookshop, Guanfu Classic Art Museum are famous venders in the Liulichang Street.
China Bookstore ( 中国书店 ) : A place to discover traditional calligraphy and painting, ancient books, and even some rare publications related with Chinese traditional culture.
RongBaoZhai ( 荣宝斋 ) : Focused on traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, Rongbaozhai is a shop with a history over 200 years. You may also find brush-pen, rice paper, ink slabs, seals, and seal paste.
RongBaoZhai is also famous for water printing on wooden board. The skill was used in the copy of many famous paintings, such as Qingmingshanhetu.
Daiyuexuan (戴月轩) : This is a place to discover Chinese traditional writing bursh, especiall Hu Bursh (湖笔). Travelers may find various kind of brushes by size, color, handle, brush hair, etc.

Subway / 地铁 :
Take Subway Line 2. get down at Hepingmen Station (和平门), walk 500 meters to south.
Take Subway Line 7. get down at Hufangqiao Station (Hufangqiao), walk 500 meters to north.
Public Bus / 公交车 :
Bus 1, 14, 15, 45, 66 to Liulichang Street Station ( 琉璃厂 ).
