Five Days Beijing Private Autumn Tour

Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1. Arrive in Beijing.  
• 
  Be met from Beijing airport or train station by private guide and transferred to hotel for checking in.
  Free for the remainder of the day.

• Day 2. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Fragrant Hill Park, outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am and transferred to Tiananmen Square. This world's largest public square is surrounded by many well-known cultural and political buildings. The square has witnessed the founding of the new China.
  Move on to Forbidden City. As one of the World Cultural Relics, Forbidden City is the largest and best-preserved palace complex. It consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms.
• Visit Fragrant Hill Park in the afternoon. Ancient temples, terraces, pavilions and pagodas are scattered in the park. In late autumn, when the leaves of thousands of smoke trees on Fragrant Hill turn red, the boundless scene is the most distinguished autumn scenery.
  Head to Olympic Park to take an outside view of Bird Nest and Water Cube. These two buildings are the most outstanding architectures for the 2008 Olympic Games.
  Be sent back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 3. Mutianyu Great Wall, Summer Palace.

  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu is the longest fully-restored section of Great Wall 90% forest coverage rate. Besides the dense and unique watchtowers, the colorful trees around the Great Wall are worth to see.
• After lunch, proceed to the largest imperial garden existing in the world, Summer Palace. It is also one of the best places to enjoy the autumn scenery in Beijing. You can find beautiful chrysanthemums and colorful leaves decorating the ancient imperial buildings.
  Be sent back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 4. Temple of Heaven, Beihai Park, Lama Temple, scenery of Ginkgo Biloba, Beijing Hutong.

  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Firstly head to visit Temple of Heaven. The temple was the place where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) came to perform worship to the God of Heaven and pray for good harvests. It is the largest sacrificial building complex in the world featuring precise structure and magnificent decoration.
  Proceed to the oldest and best-preserved imperial garden in China, Beihai Park. With a history of about 1,000 years, the park combines lakes and hills, ancient buildings, towers, trees and flowers. The annual Chrysanthemum Flower Exhibition is held in the park from late October to Middle November.
• Move on to Lama Temple in the afternoon. Lama Temple is one of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world. It houses a treasury of Buddhist art, including sculptured images of gods, demons and Buddhas, as well as Tibetan-style murals. The avenue at the entrance of the temple is one of the three avenues to enjoy the golden leaves of Ginkgo biloba in fall.
  Afterwards, visit Beijing Hutong. The narrow lanes are covered with yellow leaves. Take a man-made rickshaw to discover the traditional residences of ancient Beijing.
