Guilin Four Days History Tour

Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1. Arrival, Former Residece of Li Zongren, Elephant Trunk Hill.  
• 
  Be met by your private guide at the exit of airport or train station when you arrive in Guilin.
  Head to visit Former Residence of Li Zongren. Li Zongren was a general and vice-president president who had an important influence in Guangxi Province. The residence is the typical manor style building with the function of defense. There are 7 courtyards and 113 halls and rooms altogether.
  Then visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin City. The hill was named after its shape resembling a giant elephant drinking river water. Besides the nature views, there are some ancient constructions on the hill, including Puxian Pagoda, Yunfeng Temple and Sarira Dagoba.
• Be transferred to hotel for check in.

• Day 2. Xingan: Ling Canal, Qin Family's Courtyard.   
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to Xingan to visit one of the most anicent integrated canals in the world, Ling Canal. It is still used today to irrigate 2700 hectare of agricultural lands. Walking alone the canal to enjoy the rivers flowing in different directions and the traditional buildings on the banks.
• Proceed to Qin Family's Courtyard in an ancient village. The courtyard consists of 23 well preserved buildings built in the Ming and Qing dynasties(1368-1912), with huge stone foundations, brick walls, well-decorated tiles and elegantly carved window frames and doors.
  Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 3. Daxu Ancient Town, Jingjiang Mausoleum, Visit Dongxi Lane if time permits.  
• 
  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to visit Daxu Ancient Town. With a history of over 1,800 years, the town is one of the four ancient towns of Ming Dynasty in Guangxi Province. Many traditional Chinese architectures and old handicrafts are well remained in the town.
• Move on to visit Jingjiang Mausoleum located at the foot of the Mountain Yao. With more than 300 tombs including 11 tombs of kings from Jingjiang Family during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the mausoleum is the largest ancient mausoleum in south China.
  Visit Dongxi Lane if time permits. With architectures of Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) Dynasty styles, Dongxi Lane is an epitome of old Guilin city.
  Be transferred back to the hotel after the tour.

• Day 4. Jingjiang Princes Mansion, Duxiu Peak, Guilin Museum, Departure.

  Be picked up from hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to Jingjiang Princes Mansion. the residence of Jingjiang Princes in the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644). 14 princes of 11 generations had lived here. It was used to be the Guangxi Examination House in Qing Dynasty.
  Duxiu Peak in the mansion is one of the three main peaks of Guilin. Climb up the peak, you can enjoy the best panoramic view of Guilin city.
• Proceed to Guilin Museum. It is one of the top 100 History and Culture museums in China. The museum displays 21,500 cultural relics including blue and white porcelains of the Ming and Qing dynasties and folk items of ethnic minorities.
  Afterwards, be transferred to the airport or train station for departure.
