Guilin and Yangshuo Five Days Culture Tour

Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1. Arrival, Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill.  
• 
  Reach Guilin. Meet your private guide at the exit of airport or train station.
  Drive to visit Reed Flute Cave. This brilliant karst cave houses various stalactites, stone pillars, stone curtain and rock formations. It is an incredible natural wonder. More than 70 inscriptions also can be found in the cave.
  Proceed to Elephant Trunk Hill. As the symbol of Guilin, this hill was named after its shape resembling a huge elephant drinking water from the river with its trunk. There are some ancient constructions on the hill, including Puxian Pagoda, Yunfeng Temple and Sarira Dagoba.
• Transfer you back to the hotel for check in.

• Day 2. Li River Cruise to Yangshuo, Former Residence of Xu Beihong, Yangshuo Garden.  
• 
  Meet your guide from hotel at 07:30am - 08:10am.
  Drive to Zhujiang Pier to take Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. This section is about 83 kilometers long and is reputed as the "Hundred-mile Gallery". Cruise along the river, you can enjoy clear water with reflection of oddly-shaped peaks, graceful bamboo groves, rice paddies, water buffalo and peaceful village. The cruise will last about 4.5 hours, lunch on board.
• Disembark at Yangshuo Country in the afternoon and visit Former Residence of Xu Beihong. Xu Beihong is a modern Chinese master of fine art. When he travelled in Yangshuo, he attracted by beautiful scenery and drawn many paintings. You can find some masterpieces in the residence of three courtyards with wood and brick.
  Then visit Yangshuo Garden. It is a park with stream, mountains and caves. You can have a panoramic view of Yanshuo from the summits of the mountains.
  Overnight in Yangshuo.

• Day 3. Rafting along Yulong River, Diecai Hill, Seven Star Park.  
• 
  Meet your guide from hotel at 08:30am.
  Take a bamboo raft alone Yulong River to enjoy the natural scenery and rural life of the locals. Yulong River is the longest branch of Li River in Yangshuo. It is known as "Little Li River" because of beautiful Karst scenery.
• Afterwards, drive back to Guilin to visit Diecai Hill, a popular attraction famous for natural landscape, unique pavilions, Buddhist sculptures and stone carvings. The highest peak of the hill is the ideal place to have a bird view of the Li River and Guilin city.
  Head to the largest park in Guilin, Seven Star Park. The park is regarded as the epitome of the essence of Guilin's landscape. It is the perfect fusion of mountains, water, caves, stones, courtyards, buildings, and cultural relics.
  Transfer you back to hotel in Guilin after the tour.

• Day 4. Jingjiang Mausoleum, Daxu Ancient Town, Jingjiang Palace.

  Meet your guide from hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to visit Jingjiang Mausoleum located at the foot of the Mountain Yao. The mausoleum is the largest ancient mausoleum in south China, with more than 300 tombs including 11 tombs of kings from Jingjiang Family during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
  Move on to visit Daxu Ancient Town with a history of 200 years. Well preserved traditional Chinese architectures stand on the both sides of stone-paved streets. Many old handicrafts, like bamboo-weaving, grass shoes, traditional funeral articles, are still remained.
• Proceed to Jingjiang Palace. Featuring the natural landscape and historical relics, Jingjiang Palace is the best-preserved palace built in the Ming Dynasty for the princes. The Solitary Beauty Peak in the palace is one of the three main peaks of Guilin. There are many tablets and stone inscriptions on the peak.
  Transfer you back to hotel in Guilin after the tour.

  You will be picked up from hotel at appointed time and transferred to airport or train station for departure.
