Guilin 5 Days Private Folk Culture Tour

Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1. Arrival, Daxu Ancient Town.  
• 
  You will meet your private guide at the exit of airport or train station on arrival in Guilin.
  Head to visit Daxu Ancient Town at the east bank of the Li River. With a history of over 1800 years, the town was one of the four ancient market towns in Guangxi Province. On the both sides of blue flagstone streets stand well preserved traditional Chinese residences. Many old handicrafts are still remained in the ancient workshops, like bamboo-weaving, grass shoes and traditional funeral articles.
• Then transfer you to hotel for check in.

• Day 2. Sanjiang Drum Tower, China Dong Town, Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge.  
• 
  Pick you up from your hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to Sanjiang to visit the first drum tower of Dong ethnic. As the symbol and soul of Dong ethnic villages, Drum Tower is the wooden structure without any nails or rivets. Sanjiang Drum Tower is a 27-floor building and supported by 60 pillars with a floor space of 600 square meters.
• Proceed to China Dong Town. With similar shape to the famous Bird's Nest in Beijing, China Dong Town is a stadium featured with Dong ethnic minority for bull fighting, ethnic singing and dancing, and other recreational activities.
  Move on to Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge. Wind and rain bridge is the a typical bridge building with porches and pavilions of Dong ethnic minority. With a history of 100 years, Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge is the famous one with magnificent and unique wooden structures.
  Overnight in Sanjiang.

• Day 3. Longsheng: Longji Rice Terraces, Zhuang Ethnic Village.

  Pick you up from your hotel at 08:30am.
  Drive to Longsheng to visit Longji Rice Terraces. First built about 800 years ago, the large area of rice terraces are layer upon layer, like scales of a giant dragon. You will be stunned by this naturally created scenery.
• Visit the local Zhuang Ethnic Village located around the rice terraces. The Zhuang people live in the traditional timber-frame houses. You can feel their unique life style and costumes.
  Then you can take photos of Yao Ethnic Women.
  Transfer you back to hotel in Guilin after the tour.
•   Breakfast, Lunch,
• Day 4. Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, local family.  
• 
  Pick you up from your hotel at 07:30am - 08:10am.
  Drive to Zhujiang Pier to take the Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, which has become one of China's top tourist activities. You will enjoy a hundred-mile view of gallery with clear waters, green hills, fantastic caves and wonderful cliffs. The cruise will last about 4.5 to 5 hours.
• Disembark at Yangshuo in the afternoon and visit local family in a village.
  Transfer you back to hotel in Guilin after the tour.

• Day 5. Jingjiang Princes Mansion, Dongxi Lane, Departure.  
• 
  Pick you up from your hotel at 08:30am.
  Head to visit Jingjiang Princes Mansion. With a history of more than 600 years, Jingjiang Princes Mansion was a palace for princes in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and converted into Guangxi Examination House in Qing Dynasty(1644-1912). The Duxiu Peak in the palace is one of the three main peaks of Guilin.
  Then visit Dongxi Lane, a historical area with a history of over 1400 years. It is an epitome of old Guilin city. Many local snacks and items with ethnic characteristics can be found in this area.
• Afterwards, transfer you to airport or train station for departure.
